Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Markutza Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 As far as I know, the bad word filters only work for the posts. I don't want to deny the use of signatures for everyone just because a few users have inappropriate language or links in their signatures. Thanks!
Amy T Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I agree with you plus all the spam that is going around this would be helpful for that as well.
TrixieTang Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 The bad word filter works with signatures too. I just tested it on my board and it didn't work.
Noles Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I just tested it on my board and it didn't work. Works on mine. For example I put in the word "xyz" in my signature, and it changes to "*BLAM*".
Amy T Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Good to know it works, or at least should work.
Markutza Posted April 5, 2010 Author Posted April 5, 2010 I have version 3.0.5 and the bad word filters do not work for signatures. Is there a setting to enable/disable these filters for signatures?

bfarber Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 You can configure which groups can bypass the bad word filter, and 9/10 times the admin group is set to be able to bypass the bad word filter. Are you guys sure you're not just testing it with a group that can bypass the bad word filter (i.e. as an admin)? I'm pretty sure the bad word filters are applied to signatures. At least they should be. If you're having trouble, you may want to submit a ticket.
