Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
trancephorm Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 for example... I enter something like +16b +sounds +from +another +room, and it returns 4 pages of results, and there is just one topic that satisfies the rule that all words should appear. Every other topic lacks some words required!! i'm totally dissatisfied with ipb search engine, are there any tips or modifications that may help?
Martin A. Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Upgrade to 3.0, all I can say. This is not a support forum, and 2.3 aren't actively supported by the community anymore. So I'll doubt you get any good answers by neither IPS or the community.
Alex K. Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 IPB's search function uses MySQL's search feature, so there's not much that can be done to improve it. If you have a dedicated server, you could take advantage of IPB 3.0's native Sphinx search support if you reactivated your license and upgraded.
Mark H. Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 Hello. As was said, this is the Feedback section. Please post these questions in the correct sections of our Forum. It appears your Support has expired, since you aren't in the +Active Customers group and, if so, you can renew it in your Client Area. Thank you.
