nes718 Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 DISCLAIMER: Do not attempt this if you don't know (or have) how to navigate your way around with a DB tool like PhpMyAdmin. Okay, I did a really bone head thing. I installed the new beta chat over the old version before I read the instructions to remove. Hence, I got jammed up for a little bit with some of the problems mentioned above. What I did to manually remove the old chat application was to delete any traces of 'chat' in the following tables: 1. core_applications 2. upgrade_history (you'll see 'chat' a few times here if you had mulitple installs/uninstalls/upgrades) Once any reference of 'chat' has been eliminated from those two tables, you should be able to install the chat application from the APC. However, traces of the old parachat and other module might still be there. At this point you should do a clean uninstall. If it didn't work, remove the above two files pointed out by Brandon. The app should then uninstall cleanly and reappear in the not installed apps on the module page. Reinstall and you should be good to go ... :frantics:
Pfeiffer Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 If you refresh, do you get the same error. That would largely be an issue on our end, but it's odd for only one person to report such a problem (it would affect anyone trying to use the app I'd think). There may be an issue with your key, possibly. And how do I refresh? I get this error all the time. Regarding key: I tried to contact support but they suggested I post here as IP.Chat is Beta and not officially supported.
Mark H. Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Refresh = F5. Hard Refresh = CTRL-F5. Try both. Regarding the Key issue, login to your Client Area, go to the IP.Chat package you "purchased" for free, and generate a new key. Carefully copy and paste that key into your settings for IP.Chat and save the settings.
