-Calypso- Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 I know what is about to be said, "submit a ticket". To submit a ticket for IPS to come to my site seems a bit odd to me. I downloaded (again) and uploaded (again) the latest v3.0.2 from my client area. What is it that IPS can do now that the files could not? Should the files on my site work any differently than the files on anyone else's? My problem right now is my BB Code no longer works (by that meaning the js that adds the BB code to the textarea) with FF. Maybe IPS should take another look at their latest release and really fix it, no one should have to come to my site to fix a raw update like this. I edited only 1 file (boards.php) and I'm sure that is not the cause of it, the problem is apparently in the v3.0.2 download. I smell v3.0.3 just around the corner.
Lewis P Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 I upgraded from Beta 4 -> B5 -> RC1 -> RC2 -> 3.0.0 -> 3.0.1 -> 3.0.2 on my site and have not had such problems. A few of my members were unable to use the new emoticon panel after I edited the JS file for something... but the default package had no issues. I quite literally would, submit a ticket. You seem to have a semi-isolated issue.
-Calypso- Posted August 9, 2009 Author Posted August 9, 2009 Thanks for the input but it doesn't answer my question.
-Calypso- Posted August 9, 2009 Author Posted August 9, 2009 Ok, I just did a fresh install of the v3.0.2 and the bb code js isn't working on the clean board either but it's working fine here. FireFox v3.0.13
bfarber Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 If there's a bug report open for the issue reply to the bug report. Otherwise, I really would submit a ticket. If others are not experiencing the problem, it's a support issue. I haven't heard anything about the editor breaking, outside of the issue we already fixed with the emoticons panel.
tpq Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Same problem here. It works fine on this board but not on my board. I submitted a ticket but since it seems others are having similar issues, figured I'd comment
fatherofpain Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 It's the same problem that i had with my test forum. That's why I won't upgrade IPB 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 in my regular forum. Ps: I applied [url="http://forums.invisionpower.com/topic/290088-invision-power-board-3-0-2-released/page__view__findpost__p__1839558"]this[/url] fix, but it don't work anymore Fast reply [URL=http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/8011/fastz.jpg/][IMG]http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/8011/fastz.th.jpg[/IMG][/URL] Full editor [URL=http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/8463/fullcxm.jpg][IMG]http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/8463/fullcxm.th.jpg[/IMG][/URL]
tpq Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Any luck on this? My few users are going nuts. Their expertise lies in areas outside of technology
BuddyKidd Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I am having some of the same type of problems and have had Ticket #593889 open now for 69 hours. Still no resolution.
BuddyKidd Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 My issues were fixed by deleting the cookies in FF and in IE8 deleting the "Browser History" making sure that the "Preserve favorites website data" was unchecked and that the "Form Data" was checked. Jason on the IPS Staff gets a big + for the help he gave me in solving it. [img]http://forums.invisionpower.com/public/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif[/img]
tpq Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 this is what they had me do. It worked perfectly for me. They looked at my board first, so try this on your own caution [quote] I don't know where this comes from, but a blank space gets added into one of the BBCodes.. update custom_bbcode set bbcode_image = ''; clears it, then rebuild the bbcode cache.. Gets things working right. Try it now. Works for me. [/quote]BTW jason is a rock star
-Calypso- Posted August 15, 2009 Author Posted August 15, 2009 Tried both, neither worked. BB code js is still not working, guess I will just wait for 3.0.3 and hope IPS fixes it. For it to be working perfectly for v3.0.1 and then suddenly stop when the board gets updated to v3.0.2 it has to be something with the IPB.

-Calypso- Posted August 19, 2009 Author Posted August 19, 2009 No idea what that is, check your templates or something for it.
MattIPB Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 [s]After updating to 3.0.2 my emoticon panel isn't popping up when the smilie face is clicked. Anyone know what the fix is? Maybe something to do with javascript, I just don't know where to start. Thx[/s] Now fixed, see next post
MattIPB Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 [b]FIXED:[/b] http://forums.invisionpower.com/topic/290088-invision-power-board-3-0-2-released/page__view__findpost__p__1839558 The above thread solved my issue. Although I upgraded a coouple of weeks ago(a few days after the 6th), the files that needed to be changed were posted on the 6th August. It would help if things like this were immediately changed in the main forum download files. Or at least email users or even post something in the admin control panel. Otherwise it's not clear which are old/new files and if upgrading a few files is necessary.
