Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
I am Freddy G Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 I don't know if this has been asked before but I think it is a good idea. When I download I usually just upload the "upload" directory. I notice there is folders called upgrade. Now I do not know entirely what files are needed and what isn't. Can you make a simple package generator? Something like this Options could be Upgrade [*]2.2 [*]2.3 [*]2.3.6 Add Ons [*]1.X.X [*]IP Blog Skins [*]IP Gallery [*]CleanCut Avatars [*]IP Board Lofi [*]Default Captcha [*]Community Pack [*]Backgrounds Just an idea, I think it would be nice to have IP Board in a smaller package like I don't need any IP Gallery, Blog, Or Chat Addons. [*]Fonts
David Diaz Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 That would be a good idea, but dont forget about fresh 2.x.x and 3.x.x!
riven3d Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 they used to put out upgrade packages that only contained the changed files/anything new hopefully they will do this with 3.0.2 hate having to upload all those files when not necessary
I am Freddy G Posted July 25, 2009 Author Posted July 25, 2009 Thank you. I am glad you like the idea also.:)
bfarber Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 [quote name='riven3d' date='24 July 2009 - 09:52 PM' timestamp='1248486763' post='1832819'] they used to put out upgrade packages that only contained the changed files/anything new hopefully they will do this with 3.0.2 hate having to upload all those files when not necessary With 3.0.1 there were so many files it didn't make sense to do so (it was basically the same as the full package). We will evaluate this again with 3.0.2 and determine if it's plausible then. :)
