Cold Fire Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Hi I was wondering if there is going to be a clean up tool to get rid of any IPB 2 files that haven't been overwrote.
Connor T Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Micheal, owner of the 2.3 tool, that did just that. Plans to port it 3.0 (I hope I'm speaking correctly)
Michael Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Actually, my tool is for database changes, not files.
Connor T Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Yep, apologies. I got to stop skimming and start reading. Just dump everything but the /uploads/ folder and the config_global file. (Back it up just in case) then upload IPB 3. More detailed install procedure should come around final.
Mark Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Just delete anything except: - conf_global.php - style_x - uploads Before uploading the IPB 3 files. And then after the install is complete, delete the style_x folders (the contents of which I believe get copied to the new place in the installation)
Josh Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 If you have blog installed, don't delete your /blog/ directory though :)
Mark Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Oh yeah, or /downloads or /screenshots if you use Downloads :)
Will Munny Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I just created a fresh directory and renamed it to the same name as the live board when I was ready to upgrade... instant squeaky clean :D
