Wondering Soul Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 This is a server problem. Seems like you must be reaching your MySQL Maximum Connections limit. To change this, you will need to edit the MySQL configuration file. This file is called my.cnf. Its location varies depending on your system, im running CentOS 5 and mine is found here /etc/my.cnf. There is a variable within this file called max_connections, its default value (as of MySQL 5.1.15) is 151, before that, it was 100. Either way, you will need to increase that value slightly. Don't increase it by a huge amount, just a little. Keep checking your error logs to see if the problem has stopped after each time you edit it. You will have to restart mysqld after changing this value.
BognorRidges Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 To change this, you will need to edit the MySQL configuration file. This file is called my.cnf. Its location varies depending on your system, im running CentOS 5 and mine is found here /etc/my.cnf. Thanks Wondering Soul.Yes i have CentOS 5 I will informe my technician and i hope this is only the probleme. What about in the future if i get 500 or 1000 members on line?We have to keep increase it month by month?
AndyF Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Moving to "Server Management, Resources and Optimization" :)
Wondering Soul Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 What about in the future if i get 500 or 1000 members on line?We have to keep increase it month by month? You would have to increase this value to accommodate for the increased number of online users yes. Once you start increasing this value above 350/400 you may need to start tweaking other parts of your MySQL configuration.
Bono Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 For max_connections value you can put 300 i don't think you will ever reach that value. 1 user online doesn't equal one connection to database.
