It would be nice if we can post links to files elsewhere for downloads, in posts directly, without having to upload the files for download links.
Something like in the download mod by ntd.

There should be another option other than upload file option to , post a link for file hosted else where.

And why can't this be done by just pasting in the download link into the editor itself? Why trouble yourself to use the attachment system when it's just going to post a link, a link that you can paste into the editor yourself?

Yes, I'm afraid it's unlikely we'd build an entire system to handle such a thing when you can simply post the link in your reply.

Our download manager, for the record, does allow you to link to remote files (and is a closer comparison to the mod you referenced)
