Posted September 11, 200816 yr One of the few things my members haven't really liked since we converted from vB is the "View New Posts" feature. Some are saying that it's not showing all new posts, and it's definitely a different from what we're all used to. Any chance that View New Posts can be revised in 3.0 to be more of a Show Threads With Unread Posts feature, all new posts are shown, then all posts that are unread (not necessarily new) are shown below?
September 11, 200816 yr I have not used VB but my members have had issues with view new posts as well. Its funny you click on it and it shows a few new posts and then you click on it again an it says no new posts.

Its funny you click on it and it shows a few new posts and then you click on it again an it says no new posts. Probably cause it's more like 'View new posts since you visited last' type of thing. Anyway I have no problems with the current view new post system :)

September 12, 200816 yr In there blog post today they covered this.IP.Board 3: Topic Marking Overhaul They covered topic marking, saw nothing in there about making View New Posts into more of a Show Threads With Unread Posts feature.
September 13, 200816 yr The issue I have is, on my Windows XP computer with Firefox, after I read a topic, it still shows in the View New Posts page, but without an orange ticker. Also, if I go back to View New Posts the next day, sometimes the same topics come up as new, although there are no new posts. I didn't used to have either problem on my Mac in Safari.
September 13, 200816 yr The View New Posts is part of the topic marking. And as I said, nothing was mentioned of making View New Posts into more of a Show Threads With Unread Posts feature, that was the main part of what I suggested. :ermm:
