dieselpowered Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 I know this is not an IPB problem, however, is there anything that can be done for AOL users? As I am sure everyone is aware, for whatever reason, validation e mails will not get through for people who use AOL e mail accts.Any thoughts?
Rοb Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 I have hundreds of AOL users as members and all have validated their emails fine.
dieselpowered Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Actually disregard...sounds like they are getting the e mails...just not seeing that they may have to cut and paste the link instead of just clicking on it.
Watty Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 I thought AOL users had the "If you are an AOL user, copy/paste the following link into your browser" tattooed on their forehead?
atomicknight Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Depending on where the e-mail is originating, some of them just get labeled as spam. Nothing you can do about that.
Strange_Will Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Nothing can be done for AOL users, they're a lost cause.Depending on where the e-mail is originating, some of them just get labeled as spam. Nothing you can do about that.Make sure you have proper RDNS entries and such to prove you're not spoofing domains. However some e-mails systems do a whitelisting, which sucks.
Stuart Elliott Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Question is, why would you WANT someone that openly admits being an Arsehole OnLine customer anyway? Just add *.aol.com to the ban filters, saves all kinds of problems.
Luke Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Question is, why would you WANT someone that openly admits being an Arsehole OnLine customer anyway? Just add *.aol.com to the ban filters, saves all kinds of problems. You obviously don't realize the amount of AOL users that still exist... That's like cutting out an organ for some communities. It's just something you have to live with...
