Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Amy T Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 We've added a new feature that allows skin template bits to be shared across different skin files. With 2.3 you can now simply edit the some template bits and automatically update all skin files where those bits are used. There are several template bits making use of this functionality to help reduce the number of skin files loaded on any given page view. That will help me a lot thanks.
Cool Surfer Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 If you want to make some changes to your files, install mods etc, then this will be very helpful.
Michael Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Oh, so that's why those templates show up in other sections. Was wondering about that. Something new I need to account for in the UMI...
bfarber Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Just take into account group_names_secondary Michael, and let the template caching tools do the rest.
Michael Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 Yeah, I know how I'll go about doing it, it's a shame that I've already had to update it a couple times already.
The Clash Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 How exactly can you update the template in all skins? I.E. adding a member legend to the ActiveUsers template and having it change on all skins?
