I am disapointed about IPS

I am really really unhappy about the situation here.
In the past i bought a license, because of the good service and the possibility to get modification for cash.
Earlier i was paying here for a mod. It was said that for all coming versions of the board i can get the mod i have paid for.
Not the full price, a discount was promised..

And now? The only answer from the support stuff (ticket system) is:
Its a mod, go to ipsbeyond.
Wow ! Super ! You can

The ticket system and customer support is awesome. From what I've found, they bend over backwards and always go beyond (my expectations). Not only that, the replies I get to my tickets are from professionals who know -everything- about IPB.

If you're asking about modifications, then IPS are the wrong people to ask. IPS doesn't handle modifications, they handle IPB (the main software). IPB-Beyond is there for end-users like you and me to communicate with each other and talk about and share modifications, etc. Modifications aren't IPS's responsibility or jurisdiction.

I'm afraid that we really can't control what other people promise to do with skins or modifications that they choose to sell... if we don't make it, we don't control it... I'm not too sure how our politics or policies can fix this, I'm afraid. While I do understand that a strong modification community is important for any forum software, we can only control much. We are making continuous efforts to build our modification community, and support the fantastic people who work on modifications for our forum, however these do take time.

In terms of support... same as above really... we simply cannot support other peoples modifications. We don't write it, there's just not much we can do there. I don't know of any other company that can provide that level of support.

I do apologize if you feel you've been inconvenienced through our support system, or our policies, and of course we welcome customer feedback to tell us what we can do better. If you have any ideas for the future please let us know.

Regardless, thanks for taking the time to share with us your comments, I hope that your experience in the future is better as we work to improve.

Go back and read my post again. Thx.

Dear Ryan. The mod i was paid for was a mod from IPS.

If the modification was originally custom built by IPS (with the promise of upgrades at a discount) i can only assume the support ticket you sent in was misunderstood.

I would personally re-submit the request and forward all previous documentation including the original invoice/receipts and a link to this thread to avoid confusion.

Good luck! :)

Ahh, my apologies, I misunderstood what you were saying there. I can certainly understand your frustration there, can you give me the ticket number where you were discussing this? I'd be happy to look into it for you.

In terms of the old service, unfortunately we simply weren't able to support it at the moment - when we do something, we want to do it right, and at this time we can't make that promise. We're hoping that through the various modification services and sites out there you are able to get modifications created for you, and we are working to continue to build that in our communities, but I do again apologize if you aren't able to find what you're looking for right now.

Thanks!

I would, if i could. I was searching for the old mod request (ticket). I can

Hey Beatrina, sorry again for the inconvenience here... I've looked around and can't find the ticket referencing the original purchase, but due to the age of the ticket that's understandable. I do see the invoice there though, and appreciate the code you posted on IPS Beyond.

I've spoken to a couple of other people within IPS and we're going to see what we can do, I don't want to make any promises now but we should be able to let you know what we can do by the end of the day. I passed on your information to Nakisha, our Director of Customer Satisfaction, so she or someone else should be getting back to you.

Thanks again for your patience, hopefully we can make this work for you. :)

Hopefully. This is the only mod i really need.
Mod should work with v 2.3. I think it will come out soon :) Thanks so far.

I'm not positive what happened in that two month time frame, but I updated the mod yesterday locally for Beatrina. I am awaiting instructions from the sales department now.

As an aside, I don't know the details of the original request, and the original ticket is gone it seems. But in most cases when we *used to* offer custom services, we would offer to upgrade the mod for the next two versions. We supported the mod on the current series. We have not been involved in custom services for a little over a year, and I'm still tasked with updating some mods from time to time.

Given that the original request was made in 2003 based on the invoice date, likely we probably had outlived the original contract. Nontheless, in an effort to keep all customers satisfied within our ability, we're sorting this out still.

Beatrina - if you haven't already heard from Nakisha, please reply to your ticket (or create a new one if necessary) so we can get this wrapped up. I'm sorry for the delay you've experienced.
