Invision Community 5: A video walkthrough creating a custom theme and homepage By Matt Thursday at 04:02 PM
Cool Surfer Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 It would be nice if there was a feature to set all topics and / posts by a particular user as invisible or visible.
C_ind Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 When would that be necessary? I imagine it would be a resource intensive function.
ref_san_atom Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 I set one thread as invisible because the posts have no source links. You cannot set all the posts of a particular member invisible and why should you do that anyway? So, yeah, don't set all the posts of a 'particular' memebr as invisible. :P
Cool Surfer Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Suppose I choose to ban you, and yet not want to delete all your posts.
ref_san_atom Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Suppose I choose to ban you, and yet not want to delete all your posts. You may have disagreement with other memebrs that you would like to ban but their posts are there to benefit your board. Why shouldn't you acknowldge their contribution? Let the posts stay on the board but if you choose not to allow the member to make further posts then ban him.I am assuming you are talking about a forum that you own :P
Michael Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 This would be a good feature. Imagine if you start getting complaints about a user that has a lot of posts, you could quickly set them all invisible and go over them at your leisure, while the rest of the community doesn't have to see them. You wouldn't have to just mass-delete all of them, you could delete what you wanted as you went through them.
ref_san_atom Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Yes, I see your point. From that perspective it will be a good feature. But as somebody already has pointed out that it will be very resource intensive.
ref_san_atom Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 No more intensive than deleting them all. Then the feature can be very useful :P
