Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Confess Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 I'm seeing a few skins on IPSBeyond and was wondering if RC3 is safe to skin yet.
.KX Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 I would highly recommend waiting until final before skinning.
theskinnery.com Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 I wouldn't touch it until final...been stung by that before.
lerums Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Small changes have been made from RC3 to RC4 for example the Use Full Editor button when using quick edit.I'd leave it till the final version comes out.
SherriJones Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I wouldn't touch it until final...been stung by that before.I agree! That makes two of us!!
Donna_ Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I'd skin, can't see how a security audit will affect skinning but oh well.
Tim Dorr Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I'd skin, can't see how a security audit will affect skinning but oh well. :whistle:There were bug fixes between RC3 and the audit starting. Plus, I'm sure there will be some addition smaller changes afterwards, with a quick security review to ensure they've not opened up new holes.Nonetheless, I've already started skinning. I've got the RC3 skin saved and will run a diff report against it once it's updated to make sure I'm not missing anything.
Terry - AKA Dumbledore Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I've aready converted three and made a forth new skin. I'm just waiting for final to apply any changes to them. If any, there should not be any major change from what I have read. And as stated all you have to do is run the skin diff report and find the changes.
.Ryan Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I'd skin, can't see how a security audit will affect skinning but oh well. :whistle:Hello,The delay in releasing the software is to do do additional bug tracking. With the additional bug tracking, we hope to have caught any vulnerabilities that may have been present in the software. Management has stated that IPB 2.2 will be released by Friday December 15, 2006. If you have any other questions, please ask. Have a great day!Nakisha AndersonInvision Power ServicesDirector of Customer Satisfaction
Jaggi Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 "by the 15th"... although it could be before... and ips already stated that the final won't be released on a friday.
