Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted September 22, 200618 yr I'm wondering why in this version are not available these options: - Abbility for members to add their Skype name ... - Abbility for ACP to enable certaing groups to change their MEMBER TITLES - Global Forum Message - Domote members to any group after they reached 100% warning level.. and probably some new additions for non-tolerable users like proxy check, multiple member registrations and so on ..Most of these are just simple mods which I though will be already added to the new version... at least the first 2 !

September 22, 200618 yr He means global announcements which should show at the top of the forum on every page. Kinda' like where the rules show?
September 22, 200618 yr As Josh posted, you can use custom profile fields to show Skype in Profile & Topic view.As for Member Titles, a simple mod would take care of that. Just thinking about it, I thought of a way to do that with the simple edit of a template bit.For Members reaching 100% Warn, you'd probably need some kind of mod. I like this idea and think it should be incorporated (as well as an auto-decrease-level feature) but not something to get overly mad about because it wasn't added.
September 22, 200618 yr Some suggestion for online indicator in topic view, next to username...As far as I know, it works like this at the moment:- icon if user is offline- icon if user is onlinebut, maybe it's better like this:- icon if user is offline- blue icon if user is online and his gender is set to 'male'- pink icon if user is online and her gender is set to 'female'- icon if user is online but his/her gender is not set

So +1 from me.

I like this idea and think it should be incorporated (as well as an auto-decrease-level feature) but not something to get overly mad about because it wasn't added.Adding as custom profile will not fix the situation and list Skype after the other IM with icon and skype link and so on.. am I right? I do not know why it's not integrated since it's the most used IM...There is already mod for member titles per group permission, however after upgrade I do not know if the mod will works, and even if it works or it there will be new release of that mod, I think this options is NEEDED and it's simple as there is "number of posts before member can change their member title" .. why not permission per group??About decrasing the group after 100% warn, there is already mod about that but it could be already in IPB as well... Why we need to make all that mods while Invision could incorporate them into IPB as new futures (like the abbility to remove components, there is mod but its already added in IPB as new extra).
September 22, 200618 yr I don't think Skype is the most popular IM client. I guess it could be implemented though.I like the per-group option, but I'm not sure if it can still be implemented at this point.I *think* a feature to remove components was added. Or maybe I was looking at the 2.2 feature list and that particular mod at the same time. :P
September 22, 200618 yr AIM is the most popular IM client I beleive, in any event I'm sure we will consider Skype in a future version :)

September 22, 200618 yr Will there be a 2.3 or is it moving straight onto 3.0?I'm beginning to wonder. The staff is starting to use 2.3 in examples a lot, but I've heard that 3.0 will be next.
