THR Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 I must say - it looks absolutely fantastic. I was expecting the bugs to be fixed, as they seem to have been, but the tightening of the UI was a bit of a surprise. You really have done a great job - I'd take my hat off to you if I had one :D
.SiLlY. Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Nice... I cant wait to get this installed/upgraded. Thanx for the hard work.
Dll Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Credit where credit is due IPB, have just upgraded to the 2.1.2 on the forum with the new blog and new gallery and it is excellent. :)
.SiLlY. Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 And i noticed IPG now has a copyright/version on the footer. Hooray!
Brandon C Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 I have just downloaded and unzipped my Invision Gallery 2.0.3. It has an upgrade.txt file, but it only explains how to upgrade from 1.3.x and I have Invision Gallery 2.0.2 and IPB 2.1.2. So may someone just give me complete instructions on how to self-upgrade (I want to do it myself) my IG from 2.0.2 to 2.0.3?Thanks! :)
john01 Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Just a massive thanks to Ze Kinder for working so hard on this release, and bringing this out ahead of schedule... I haven't installed yet, been itching to for a LONG time, and now about to go do it, but from the comments so far I'm really pleased and optimistic! Cheers! :)

maxos Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 A quick question, if I had the 2.0.2 skin already modified, and I don't have the time to locate changes on the 2.0.3 skin, will I lose any functions? I mean, are there new function that need code in the skin added in 2.0.3?
Frontpage Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 Just upgraded to version 2.0.3. and still have trouble displaying movie files. Ze stated that this would be fixed in this version and now it is worse than before. In version 2.0.2, we could display movie files except for .mov files; now no movies files are viewable. Do you guys test the latest version of Gallery before releasing it?
smallblockfuelie Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 Do you guys test the latest version of Gallery before releasing it? Now THAT insulting comment will get you tons of help.

Do you guys test the latest version of Gallery before releasing it? As far as I know most everything was fixed in this release. If you are encountering an issue with a specific item you can either open a support ticket or submit a bug report. I would suggest starting with a support ticket as it may be a simple upgrade issue or another possible issue. I would highly doubt Adam would decide to randomly make movies harder to view from 2.0.2 to 2.0.3 :) Either way be sure to open a ticket so the techs can see if it's an isolated problem or something that a developer needs to address.

Management Charles Posted October 29, 2005 Management Posted October 29, 2005 Agreed, no need at all for rudeness toward the staff. In response to that question, though, it was tested for several days before release. Even so, there are things that can be overlooked or may only happen under circumstances we do not test for. That is why we always ask people bring things to our attention. We have a very involved internal process that all reports go through to ensure they are in future releases. We are also working on a "patch" system so any issues fixed between versions can see the fixed files available for download. Obviously this would be only suggested for users comfortable with manual patching.

This is welcome news IMO :) I've also upgraded my gallery today after finally being able to download it, and are alot happier with this product than any of the previous. I look forward to seeing this developed further in future :) Chuck :)

Thandi Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 I got the new gallery today, and am quite happy with it, altho, there is one thing. I cannot find any features within the galleries that allow for bulk uploading of pics...only one at a time. When I look at the gallery here on this Invision board...I see a button along the top to add multiple pics...shouldn't I have this same button in my galleries? Or, how can I enable this feature, so members (including myself) don't have to load pics one at a time? Thank you :)

Hi Thandi, What you need to do is go here:ACP > COMPONENTS > Invision Gallery > Groups In the Group Overview box you'll see your user groups, and to the far right an Edit link. Click the link to edit that group's Gallery multiple upload rights:Multiple File Upload Settings This section allows you to set if this group can upload multiple files at one timeNumber of upload boxes to show? Set to 0 to disallow this feature ( Limited to 20 ) Fill in the desired number of upload boxes to show, then click Save Settings. HTH, Rick
spade16 Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 installed no problems everything does what it supposed to display is a lot better seems that all the problems of old and user gripes have been taken care of at last can display more than 5 members gallerys in member gallery index!! :) only problem having is with multimedia, a permissions issue but have to say though had a bit of a frustrating wait , first impression is this product has at last turned a corner and full credit goes to those responsible

Lemon Head Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 Firstly, is there a list of what's new for this Gallery? Thanks! Secondly on my Gallery, the display of the thumbnails is much improved but still not perfect. Take a look at this link if possible with Firefox and IE6 and you'll see what I mean. In Firefox the image thumbnails and the Rate Image menu box overlap the file details. When viewed in IE6, the thumbnails are fine but the Rate Image menu box appears underneath the file details. I wondered if it was my skin but its just the same with the default one. And finally, thank you for the speedy upgrade from Support.
john01 Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 Many thanks, Rick! I needed to know that too!  Hi Thandi, What you need to do is go here: ACP > COMPONENTS > Invision Gallery > Groups In the Group Overview box you'll see your user groups, and to the far right an Edit link. UBERHOST.NET Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 Many thanks, Rick! I needed to know that too!  My pleasure, mate, some of these options take a bit of digging but then after finding them it all somehow makes sense. I find that snacking on Subway® Sandwiches helps, lol.
9527 Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 I can see the problem with Safari 2.0.1. I think maybe the current skin u are using creates this problem with 2.0.3 gallery.Firstly, is there a list of what's new for this Gallery? Thanks! Lemon Head Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 Thanks 9527. It looks exactly the same with the default IPB skin though.
