IPB 2.1.2 & ICB 1.2.1 Released

Ah OK, so that's like me deciding I want to buy a particular car, and then only when I place the order for the car, do I find out the cost of the optional extras.

For the record, I am a registered IPB customer, but the feedback I'm trying to give here is that, for any new customer who may want to understand the cost of the whole offering, they cannot find out until they load up an actual form, and that may be a step too far for a lot of people.

It's like going along the high street and window shopping. Sometimes the clothes in the window all have price tags and you know what you might need to pay for a whole outfit before you step through the shop door. In other windows NOTHING is priced. Personally, I don't go in that second type of shop. ;)

But thanks for the link, that IS useful. The IPB cost is VERY clear, and the 2 costs clearly spell out whether the license is perpetual or yearly. For the add-ons, it's not so clear. Perhaps it ought to be.

For example if I buy (or already have) an IPB perpetual license, and order ICB, is ICB pewpetual too? Or is ICB only annual whatever IPB license I own?

well they are supposed to fix problems no matter what version I have. There is no rule saying I must upgrade to a new version to fix issues with their sooftware.

Quite possibly the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my entire life. That takes the cake - stupidest comment ever.

Sorry to reply october's posts...

I think the 'bug' is that tabs are replaced by (let's say) four spaces when using CODE whereas they remain as (let's say) eight-space tabs when using CODEBOX.

It doesn't really bother me but is Chortos-2 suggesting CODE should reproduce (eight-space) tabs correctly rather than reducing them?

I'm not really sure right now. It can be done, though I don't see much of a need for it.

If you post some instructions like 'Find ... and replace with ...' (e.g. for a mod), you need the other users to be able to copy the code. If the tabs are replaces with spaces, they won't be able, let's say, to find the correct code which is to be replaced! <_<

I'm a newbe here... so I'm not sure this is the place to ask this. But I've been running a version 1.1.2 board for a long time, and just noticed that there are lots of new upgrades. Any suggestions as to which one I should upgrade to? Will I loose any posts that have already happened?

Second, my board has no log-in controls, and I have been gettings spammed by porn pushers that last couple of weeks. Any ideas how to illiminate these without having to manually remove them every day or two?

Thanks

To fix the installer from timing out during the upgrade you likely need to open class_xml.php and set var $lite_parser to equal 1 instead of 0. This was an issue even during the initial release. Some servers are timing out handling the XML request (i.e. skins and settings being updated).

I haven't used the arcade in a while, but last I checked they just had you upload the skin files directly (instead of properly inserting them into the db). That being the case, you can recache and rebuild all you want, the class names are going to be invalid and the arcade won't work. You can manually add the skin id's to each arcade skin file's class name, or ask the author of the mod to make an update.

Please submit a ticket on the calendar issue so I can look into it.

I tried changing it from 0 to 1, but I got this error:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/******/public_html/forum/upgrade/core/template.php on line 50
