Logan Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 This is a must and has been requested for a long time, multiple choice poll questions! A little checkbox next to each poll question to indicate multiple choice or not is all that's needed. (And of course the functionality :P) There is a good mod to achieve this available for IPB 2.1.0, but as a default feature would be much better:http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showtopic=189252
Antony Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Multiple answers and multiple questions... setting up a poll would be enough to confuse newbies. We need a "Lite" and an "Advanced" mode for polls. Perhaps some javascript can be used to hide some sections... Still, brilliant idea. +1.
.John. Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 I agree with the regular and advanced mode. +2
tranceandy Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Yes I find it dissapointing this is still missing after all this time :( Hopefully the next version?
Kman_ Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 What the heck? I thought ipb already had this. Or maybe invisionfree does...
Why Two Kay Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 I would like this ability, and I like the idea of Basic/Advanced polls. Also, I think that admins should choose which groups can make a multi choice poll.
Davidcopperfield Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 It is feasible and ought to be done, but how can you draw staff's attention to this thread? :(
//Nathan Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 +1 from me as well. We already have lite/advanced technology in IPB, look at Fast Reply. I have FR open by default, and if I want more options, I click on either AddReply or More Options. Poll should be the same. For each poll question, all you need is, a little thing to the right where you can choose "Select ONE" or "Select ANY". In forms, you have radio buttons and check boxes. Traditionally with radio buttons (circles with dots when selected) you must choose one and only one; choosing another "moves" your selection. Check boxes, you can have as many as you want. There should also be an option to select none. The problem, IMHO, with 2.1's multiple question polls, is that you have to have an answer for all questions asked, and you may not, depending on the question. The topic ought to have been titled "Multiple answers to poll questions". :P PS - You don't draw staff attention to this thread. (Don't use report, that's feature abuse.) I think the developers browse the forum every now and then for inspiration. I would.
//Nathan Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 It's already been done. I've downloaded this mod and plan to install it within the next week or so.
Logan Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 No, it hasn't already been done. Yes it's been created as a mod, but this feature suggestion forum is for feature suggestions to be added as a default feature in IPB, and this is exactly what I am requesting :)
iMonkey Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 I also agree with the regular and advanced modes
Biggy Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 What about multiple choice in the profile screen? What I mean is ether by a Costum profile screen, allow the user to pick several choices? Is there a mod for that?
iMonkey Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 very interesting concept but what could it be used for?
Biggy Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 For example, www.tqhw.org We are a on-line gaming group based on a military structure. We award medals and badges. So we would like, via the Admin CP, award medals and badges by editing a members profile to add multiple medals appearing in their profile.
Logan Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 What about multiple choice in the profile screen? What I mean is ether by a Costum profile screen, allow the user to pick several choices? Is there a mod for that? Don't really understand what you mean?
Brandon C Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 +2 for regular (or lite) and advanced modes. :)
iMonkey Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 For example, www.tqhw.org We are a on-line gaming group based on a military structure. We award medals and badges. So we would like, via the Admin CP, award medals and badges by editing a members profile to add multiple medals appearing in their profile. Ah, then yes I can see a use for it. Any site out there could find a use just like your example regardless of its site topic. therefore, i dig the idea :)
CG DAGinator Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 +1 for Mutiple Choice Polls. +1 for Basic/Advanced Poll modes.
.Seth Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 wtf? I thought ipb already had this. Or maybe invisionfree does... InvisionFree does; IPB does not.
Stec Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Well I did a search for Multiple Choice Polls and found this... I been scratching my head on this subject because I been on Invisionfree for a year & half and recently purchased my databse from them and bought an IPB board and got setup on my own host. Well we have a very big & busy poll forum as one of the categorys and were wondering why we could not make multi choice polls nor vote in any old multi choice polls already created on the old forum. This boggles my mind that is not a feature in IPB 2.1.x boards, why was it removed??? PLEASE bring it back thanks! :o
Mesmer Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 My users are reguesting this since the beginning so it has my vote too!
