I have gone through the settings but haven't figured out a way to do the following. I would like for new members to be able to post immediately after registration but have their post approved before it appears. This should be the case for a few days, let's say 3. After that, they should be normal members without needing approval. Any tips on that?

I'm moving an old blog to the platform, and until some time ago when I created a new blog it allowed me to choose a date even in the past. Now it won't let me post again until today or a later date. Is it possible to deactivate this setting and restore the possibility of publishing on past dates?

I'm putting together a page using the Pages App and working with the "Upload Images" block. I've put in an image and have a URL included (making this into a button for my page, basically). But I can't find where I can set it to open the link in a new window. Definitely need to do that, and I'm sure I'm just missing it. Thanks!

We are still running our live site on the deprecated PHP7.4, also using older IPS 4.7.2.1 Previous attempt to upgrade the live server to PHP8 failed due to customisations/plugins. Question is about using the license in a test environment. I made a full copy of our IPS forum site on a local VM (offsite, not accessible from the web). When I log in to the admin CP there it tells me about an invalid lisence ofcourse. Can I still attempt a PHP/IPS upgrade or will this (now invalid) license stop me from upgrading IPS later? If all works out on the testbox, I can retrace my steps on the live box. The test VM will be destroyed after that.

I'm working on making new images for the Ranks in our community. However, before replacing them, I'd like to make sure that I can get the stock IPS images back, just in case. So far, though, I can't see a way to do that. Do you have them somewhere where I can just save the images? Also, is there a suggested size for the replacement images? Thanks!

Hi Dos anyone know if it is possible within the software or a plugin that will hide all images uploaded by members from guests? Also was hoping whether a dummy image stating website visitors need to register to see images. Some images that can be taken from the net can be uploaded by members not knowing that some are copyrighted and it seems there are a few unscrupulous companies out there that look for particular copyrighted images then send small businesses or innocent website owners an invoice for usage, and are very persistant and some nasty. Can range from £50 to £10,000. At least then google wont spider images so these companies cannot track them bac…

My next event is in March 2024. I suppose that that means my event page shows "No events scheduled this month" and will continue showing that until March 1st, 2024. Is there a way to show something like "Next event March 17th.." instead?

Is there option to recount Warnings & Restrictions points ? After last problem when moderator add warning points and it some times count and some times not count is there a chance to recount for every one now in acp panel ? The problem is that some users have curently -17 -20 points and when moderator give them 5 points, the current points tend to zero. The second problem is when i manualy recount and insert good amount of points the system calculates incorrectly and deducts points incorrectly after a specified period of time. (ban time or expiration time)

Hello all. I'm trying to upgrade from 4.6.10 to 4.7.14 with no success. I've tried the automatic and manual options I'm getting 19 similar database errors, such as: Incorrect key file for table 'core_members'; try to repair it I assume it's because it's a big jump between versions so the database schema will have changed along the upgrade chain at some point. Any suggestions? (and thanks in advance!)

There is a glitch I am experiencing when viewing our website on a mobile device (iPhone). It does this quite often on just about all the posts in the forum. Take this example: https://irosacea.org/forums/topic/4029-fake-rosacea-news/ On a computer (iMac) the following comes up (see attached file ScreenshotFakeNews.pdf). I can then click on the screen and it goes to the post. On my iPhone all I can view is the 'FAKE NEWS' screen on my device and I cannot figure out how to get to the post. This seems to be some sort of glitch on a mobile device. If this is how other viewers of our web site are struggling to find the post, I am sure they are completely frustr…

I have a document download section. People upload procedures and other forms. There is an image that's associated with each, but it's always blank. How do I get it to show the file type of each document? Let's say a Word, or Excel image or ma maybe a pdf logo.

I recall on previous versions of IPB a blue (or sometimes red) banner / notification would appear when logged into the board as administrator and a software update was available. I don't seem to get those banners anymore. Were they removed or am I missing something?

Hello again! I have translate the suite more then 10 years . means some langkey is not in use anymore . i have many langkeys who is empty . Does this mean its outdated lang not in use anymore?? Hello, Maybe there's a setting for this somewhere and I just haven't found it. I have created a page at /docs/dmca/takedown-notice on which I host a custom block. This path was built in the ACP using folders. However, this path does not reflect the breadcrumbs on the page, which are simply Home > Guide to Submitting a DMCA Takedown Notice. How can I get the breadcrumbs on the page to observe the folders? There are index.html pages at both /docs and /docs/dmca, so clicking the corresponding breadcrumb links will not be an issue for users, set up as such:

Hi all, we were trying to create a category inside "blogs" and we want to make it visible and accessible only to some groups... In AdminCP we didn't find how to set permissions to a blog category. Hiding the category does not prevent to access to it because if you have the link of the category, you will be able to access to the category itself. Also, the System->Site Features->Applications-> Blogs->Permissions is not helping us to set the permission on only one single category (but for all the category). We noticed that we have the chance to set the visibility for users but not groups, this is not helpful... it is not convenient inserting every …
