IPB2 feel like Windows XP - very stable
IPB3 feel like Vista with a lot of bugs.
IPB 3.1 feel like Windows 7 - very stable(you never know....)
:P
Funny idea, but really thats quite inacurate :P -
ha :P that is a good suggestion. I'm sure IPS will check for these things though. Regardless of that anyway, I don't think anyone would really in their right mind do such a thing ;)

You should be able to see where you got +/- reputation from (the posts). This should only be shown to the member that received the reputation.
When uploading files/images, there should be displayed allowed file types somewhere. This can be displayed in a box just like the one used when viewing who voted in polls.
Let us be able to minimize forum rules in topics and the related forum. No use to have them taking up space after you've read them a 1000 times already...
When working in ACP with areas that are using permissions, please add a dropdown-box that allows you to copy all the permissions from the selected area (forum, category, addon categories, etc.). This will allow you to add e.g. forums at a largly increased speed, and with no errors when dealing with a lot of permission masks (as used by a lot of forums, myself are using at least 10 different masks), and advanced mask permissions. This is a future that's been needed for quite a while by a lot of customers.
These four are key in my opinion :) -
why do people feel the need to "threaten" to switch to vB ?
Pathetic. -
They do, but you shouldn't judge by what you see here on the forums alone. :) He could have a perpetual license and not require support, for instance. Or his client area account could be under a different email address.
How naive of me. I didn't think about that at the time. (no sarcasm intended) -
I thought only Customers had access to the RC release?
-
Agree with IPS doing a fantastic job! but I don't agree with your marketing techniques :P
-
It's the normal forum RSS import functionality. Nothing specific to blog. :)
I think the task runs every few hours, or at least once a day.
And, for the record (now that RC1 is released) we weren't even a week over our estimate. We did the best we could in estimating how long it would take - give us some slack lol.
I'm afraid 4 days is still over what you said and quite frankly, I'm apalled. <_<
Only joking bfarber :P Thanks for the hard work guys. I've already got my BETA5 skin upgraded to RC1. Took about 20 mintues!. Loving the new templates - They're a lot cleaner now :) -
Question: When will IPB be released?
Answer: When it's ready
Question: When will it be ready?
Answer: ....
Fallacy alert. Fallacy alert.
Look, we've heard that dam quote a billion times. Some people just want to hear some little reasurance from an IPS Staff member. For example, a staff member could say "hmm, I'd say by the end of next week"
Please stop using that god forsaken quote. -
Huh <_< ? ^^

I just really want to get my site on IPB3. So many features I want to me using from it.
And the @ user should be a button, looks nice, better then quotes sometimes.
That is true about the @User thing. Like a BBcode but maybe a bit more advanced in ways? -
Not when 2000 bucks is on the line. This is a matter of beating manHa or loosing to manHa. I need every minute.
Are you saying Manha is going to be your only competition in this actual contest ? :ermm: Or are you having some sort of battle of your own lol
@ Killswitch
I feel your pain man. Just work with BETA5 as much as possible then paste the codes / images over that havn't changed (w00t) -
They do look a little nicer :)
The small minor details always help. -
Or perhaps "Let he who doesn't like the skin create his own"?
Precisely, If you really don't like it that much and aren't even willing to give ONE reason why then perhaps you can enter the skin contest and make a better one which we can all use ;) -
The IPB3.0 framework has been completely re-written.
Your 2.3 mods will not work with 3.0. Same applies to skins.

I just re-read the Skinning competition thread, It says that the winning skin will sit along side the IPB3 download in the client area. I could have sworn I read at one point it was going to be shipped with IPB3 as a secondary skin?
