  1. Two suggestions:

    1) Show the member's location in the balloon.

    2) Add a list to the right of the map of members who have added their location. When you click on a member's name, zoom in and open the balloon.

    :)

  2. Report Center: I've asked for this more than once, but I'm going to keep pushing for a more useful Report Center. For starters, make it function more like the tracker, where updating the status is a new post, you can comment when you make a status update, etc. Also, as someone else mentioned, perhaps more inline moderation functions accessible from the Report Center rather than having to navigate to the reported content/user.

  3. Thanks for the business lesson, but it's important to remember that IP.Board isn't trying to be vBulletin.

That said, some features on my personal wish-list include improvements to the moderation tools. I'm interested though Gabriel what you think a "moderator control panel" should include - besides possibly a central location for viewing approved/unapproved content - there aren't any tools I can think of that would be suitable for a moderator control panel since they can already do everything (i.e. manage forums and edit members) inline.

The Report Center could certainly use some enhancements. It is lacking in usefulness in its current state. I've suggested numerous times making it behave more like the Tracker -- changing report status would be recorded by making a post and having the ability to add comments.
  4. It's not incredibly convenient, but you could then do a search of the Member list based on your custom profile field by searching for a username and you'll see a list of users who entered that name in their profile field.

  5. Modification area - It also doesnt seem to have the 'flashyness' of the main website and looks to me as it needs a bit of overhall in order to make it more friendly.

I would agree with that. It looks "raw," if you will, at the moment.
  6. I would certainly use one on my site as it is locale-oriented, however I don't necessarily think it's something IPS should invest time in creating. I certainly wouldn't mind a reliable modification, though :P.

  7. Just added that back in for 3.0.4 (locally). You're welcome.

    Thank you for that, Matt.

As for topic icons, I couldn't disagree more. They served no (zero) purpose on my community, and when on a listing of 20 threads only one, maybe two, used topic icons, it made the whole list look unorganized.

  8. I really don't give a hoot if he's right (not in my book he wasn't), being patronised by a user who has no connection to IPS isn't going to impress me. If I had wanted to post a bug report I would have, but the fact is people don't look at those and the title of this forum section is entitled "IPS Company Feedback > IP.Board" is it not? Did I not provide feedback or am I wasting my time? Not sure why you'd let casual users patronise another user when all he was doing was "providing feedback".

I guess being helpful is no longer acceptable.
  9. Just logged in and out locally on the Company Forums, and things are back to normal again :). I originally tried logging out and back in on the Converge page, and when that didn't work I assumed there was a problem.

  10. I've encountered on occasion the need to converse with a member on my site via PM, however I can't do this if I've disabled the member's Personal Messenger. You may say, well, that makes sense, but I think that similar to overriding an inbox-full, Admins should be allowed to override this and message any member on the board, and vice versa.

A member who's Personal Messenger was disabled reported a post to me, and I have no way of responding to his report without re-enabling his Personal Messenger.

  11. It's always been like that as far as I can remember. Although I do agree personally I do not think anyone without ACP access should have access to the forum side prune tools. :)

Is there a way to prevent them from having access to such tools?
  12. I remember a Brandon saying a few months ago that he had customized the warn system for TWOP and in the future he'd like to expand upon what is offered by default in IPB. IMO the Warn System should be the primary medium for discipline for my community. In its current state, I feel as though it is fairly useless -- essentially a notepad that each user may or may not choose to view. What are some of your suggestions for the warn system?

How about when a warning is issued, forcing the user to acknowledge it before proceeding with any further activity on the board? Sure, you could send the user a PM via the warn panel, however that is fairly cumbersome and not connected to the actual warning whatsoever.

I don't remember how else Brandon said he customized TWOP's warn system, however I'd curious to hear what improvements others think could be made to the warn system.

  13. Please add this option to all the board.

Many board will not subscribe to the spam service but they can still help all the others by passing the information to Invision ;)

Your board has to be using the Spam Service in order to pass the information back to IPS.
  14. Making the report center more useful...

    • Show who the last person to post/perform an action in the report thread is (similar to the Tracker)
    • Make updating the status a new post and allow for a comment on the update (again, like the Tracker, and this would address the first bullet)
    • Show that there are new comments on a report with a "go to first unread post" icon (again, like the Tracker)

    :D
