While I am waiting for a support issue that is really important to our website after upgrading to 4.6.12, I thought of browsing the IC community to see if anyone else has the same issue, and while this thread has nothing to do with my issue, I was intrigued by its title, since that is exactly how I think an IC forum should be, 'nice'.
So a cursory review of this thread of three pages (so far) about this new feature being a 'Waste of time' or a 'bad idea' or "endless nonsense like 'stay on topic' or some other silly rule" or "don't think this comes close to being called a new feature" or " the 'friendly reminder' under your image some sort of threat veiled threat" or "Ridiculous and stupid 'feature' " or "this hardly can be new feature" or "A very, very weak tool" I find this new feature worth learning about since I have never used it, didn't know about it at all and since we recently switched to a subscription based member forum allowing only guests to view a small portion of our website data and culling through all the 'guest' posts which are 99.9% spam I was wondering if this feature would work with guest posts that require NO registration?
I have never used this feature and would like to dive in but if it doesn't work for guests that would be sad. I am sorry I am not as up to date as some of you are in this thread but this feature looks extremely complicated to me based upon my cursory review of this thread and I know will take me a few hours to figure out so I appreciate anyone explaining to me if this works for guest posts? Anything that warns a spammer to be nice and follow the rules would be a 'nice' feature to warn spammers even though they may still get by this feature and continue to post their spam.
In the above screenshot, should the first setting, 'Use Recommended Settings?' be on or off. Mine is set off. Should I turn it on? I have no idea how to create a sitemap so I hope IC does this for us.
