how to upgrade again? if i upoad the fresh folder what old files besides global.config.php do i need?

They are closing threads for no real reason left, right and centre they are also warning people who are having justified concerns. Alot of Vb's long term staff seem to be 'moving on' I can see a big shift from Vb shortly, the new company that took over dont seem to understand customer communication nor support.

IPS cannot or will not say yet. When it's ready to release, they will release it.

But it should be only a matter of days, since the Forum here is now running RC2.

I dont like the suggestion about having different tabs just seems to complicate matters when users are used to new topic submissions being in an orderly form.

Yeah they are testing some elements out - give them time to work things out. Apparently this happened when the board went onto the RC1 but was resolved in a couple of days.

I think you guys misunderstood the skinning competition.

The winning skin from the skin competition is not likely to be included with 3.0.0 final. It will most likely not be included with IPB until 3.0.1 or later.

We are not basing the release of IP.Board 3.0 on the results of the skin competition. :)

Well the skinning competitions now been 'extended' to the 15th June so i think they are going to be pushing it for final by the end of June.

Wonder if it will be extended again due to popular demand :P :)

RC 2 is going on my live forum for sure - just couldnt take the risk with RC1 with it being the first release they suggested to use on live forums (especially with all those different configurations out there etc)

That is wrong. We have every intention of releasing subscriptions manager with IP.Board 3.0 before handing it over to the community... Matt has been working on it for a while.

It would be nice if ipb could release the subscription manager before the final so that it could actually be tested before putting it into a "production" release.

Well they talked about december 2008 firstly and now its May and yep i fully expect them to not go gold till july at least. The release candidate with over 100 bugs was a setback too - ive followed other software through betas and release candidates and lets just say there wasnt 20 bug reports nevermind over 100.

But this is the 1st release that wasnt encoded so thats someways towards it.

im pretty shocked that RC1's had so many bugs in it though having followed Vb through RC releases before.

Theres a lot that can be done using Facebook Connect i was running a Vb forum and someone had configured a mod that allowed you to post links on your facebook profiles and also to show people had replied to topics whilst using Facebook in the form of Notifications etc.

Just ran into the flood control for posting and got to say its pretty annoying that you lost the topic you had typed out when getting the error message even if you click the back button!

Yep there are always bugs in release candidates otherwise it would be IPB gold haha!

Just add them as users in the ACP - you can input the email addresses and member groups there i mean for 5 members that will take like 2 minutes work really.
