New: Leaderboard Enhancements

This entry is about our IPS Community Suite 4.2 release

Top Members

For 4.2 we made some improvements to the Top Members section of the Leaderboard. A new overview page tab shows a selection of the top members across different criteria.

The filter menu allows you to view more members in any chosen category, and a new AdminCP setting controls which categories should be available.

In the AdminCP you can configure which categories are shown on the overview page, the filter menu, and how many results show for each.

Popular Contributors Widget

Another small change is the Popular Contributors widget now contains a link to the appropriate section of the Leaderboard.

We should be able to exclude groups or users. The founder of a forum, for example, will probably have more reputation than another admin and maybe he doesn't want to appear in the leaderboard.

One example here on IPS is the IPS NEWS account! There's no sense in display it there: https://invisionpower.com/topmembers/

That is what we really need cause we try to build a reward system based on Leaderboard and we definitely don't want admins, moderators appear in the list. To achieve this I have disabled reputation on these groups but this is not quite good cause eveyone asks why they can not like our posts..

I'd like it if the stats got locked in after the day is over.

If a user is in first place for a day two days ago, I can simply go back and vote on lots of posts from another user from that day and change the results.  It should be like a voting system that ends at midnight each day.

There is Always possible here to see members most Reputation by a selective time duration. I Really hoped for 4.2, Top Members section show us a time duration menu, at least a closed option in ACP so Admin could chose duration rather than "All Time" only.

Leaderboard is a great feature and growing even better by these enhancements. but it's more focused on Reputation points rather than Contents creating ... event ranking people in leaderboard section itself, could be based on content creating, by user or admin side.

Would be great to see who is most active (based on number of logins or session time) and gives the most reputation (likes).

Missing that from SMF.. Session time ( based on the online time setting )

Nice improvements, thank you.

Still hoping for an announcement on member rewards, badges and trophies and thought it may be tied in to the Leaderboard improvements news article!

Something built-in and not a mod, with motivating attractive trophie/reward graphics shown in profiles, within the Leaderboard and optionally next to forum posts, like this:-

Come on, please take it to the next level! I have my fingers crossed. :)

Is it also possible to exclude forums and their content from the different criteria ?

Thank you. :)

You can exclude individual forums from increasing the content count when submitting, but not when showing the leaderboard results.

wouldnt it be nice if the likes,  could visualise live   into a  webbed network ?

showing perhaps   the kind of community  that is  creating "the buzz" ?

I hope i gave you inspiration :-) !

It would give more to admins (they would know what group to treat really good, and where they should get better)

@Mark, with this update Could I EXCLUDE Group X from showing up in the reputation leaderboard?

Right now I have had to disable reputation altogether on Group X because they were constantly taking over the top slots. I want them to get reputation points, but just dont want them to show in the leaderboard.
