The Tweet needs to be public in order to be embeddable. Think that was the issue other posters were having. There currently isn’t a known issue with the software.

They're all public (the ones we have issues with) and are hit or miss. You try embedding it and it gives you the error message. You try again and it happens again, eventually you might get it to embed. Or one person tries embedding it and it won't work, someone else tries and it does.

It can be pretty frustrating.

The link could not be embedded because an error occurred on x.com.

I get that error which would be an error from X, not the software.

X was on the receiving end of a massive attack today and that is/was what was responsible for the tweets not embedding

I'll try to get an example of one that won't embed on my site, usually though they will end up embedding after a bit of trying.

I've assumed that it's like an issue with X itself, but didn't know if there might be a work around or update or something that might fix it.

Yeah, they're having their issues today. The issue that I've asked about has been ongoing for a while and isn't related to today's issues.

Oh so this is a twitter/x issue at the moment.

I sure picked the right day to test embedding of Twitter/x out before our site goes live tomorrow.

While I have got the tech guys here. Which twitter/x URLs do I need to whitelist. The instructions are a little confusing (for me anyway).

My members and I are experiencing issues loading X / Tweets in topics/replies as well.

I can paste some twitter URLs in here and they embed fine but those same ones won't embed on my website.

 

My community is having issue with links embedding from X from last 48 hrs., is anyone experiencing same issues and if there is a workaround for this? Thanks in advance.

Its a twitter/X problem.

It's happened a few times before. It usually takes 2-5 days before someone fixes it.

On my website nothing shows. Here is much different

The stable version has been released, but it is expected that version 5.0.4, once released, will fix a significant number of bugs that are still present.

Something that just came to mind, I'm on php 8 at the moment. Do you think that would have anything to do with this issue?

If you're on version 4 and running PHP 8.2 or higher, you will want to downgrade to PHP 8.1. As PHP 8.2+ is not supported.

I'm on v4.7.19 with PHP 8. I will upgrade to 5 (or 5.04 when it's ready), and hopefully that'll solve the issue. But if PHP 8.1 or 2 isn't supported for v4.7.19, I'll leave things as they are for now.

Version 4.7.19 supports only PHP 8.0 and 8.1.
