Jim M Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 As mentioned in the error, your server is unable to resolve the host. You will need to contact your hosting provider or server administrator for assistance. Could not resolve host: wns2-db5p.notify.windows.com abobader 1
abobader Posted January 26, 2023 Author Posted January 26, 2023 Thanks Jim, yes, I just wanted to be sure about this.
abobader Posted January 26, 2023 Author Posted January 26, 2023 Well, that link can not resolve anywhere (me and the server admin tried that), the problem now, that task "queue" is locked. Any suggestion @Jim M to solve that task issue? Thanks.
Grant_B Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 We have the same issue for the past hour or so - I think the issue must be with the windows PWA server?
Jim M Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 That also can be the case if the service is down, your server can't reach it 😄
Grant_B Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 An external service being down shouldn't completely hang and lockup the queues though? That doesn't seem right? abobader and Tripp★ 2
Grant_B Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 It looks like it's a Windows / DNS issue - thread about it here: abobader 1
Jim M Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 I've submitted this "issue" internally for review from our dev team. I definitely hear you about just because a service is down doesn't mean that should stop your queue from processing. Things will still process that are a higher priority, just not as efficiently. abobader 1
Clover13 Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 I just got this notification in my admincp but there are no logs (30 day retention)
PatrickRQ Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Oh, good it is not "my" issue. I was just about to go to bed when noticed the issue.. first thoughts " f***, again messed night. Point to find good side of the bad 😂
Tripp★ Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Seems that my backlog has cleared, there are no outstanding tasks anymore and queue is no longer locked up.
RevengeFNF Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Yep, for me too. About 2 hours ago it stopped generating the error log.
Marc Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Microsoft has issues with DNS over the last day, so I suspect this is where you are seeing the issues
Clover13 Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 (edited) Any idea why my task was locked but I had no logs? And only one of my sites had the locked queue task? All I see is: Tasks do not usually log anything if they run without error. Edited January 27, 2023 by Clover13
Marc Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Has it stated which task is failing? If it's the queue task, have you checked what background tasks you have running?

If it's the queue task, have you checked what background tasks you have running? The queue task is no longer locked now, as others have also experienced. I was looking just at the queue task logs, I thought that's what others were referring to when they were looking at logs. Don't recall what other background tasks were running at the time. I'll review their logs if it happens again.
Marc Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 No problem. Glad to hear its now working in any case 🙂 Clover13 1
Ryan Ashbrook Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 I've added protection for this, in a future version, so if a service cannot be reached it does not cause an error in the queue (it will still log it to the System Logs, however, as it's important to know what happened if a notification is not sent).
