Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
brfcs Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 We're undergoing a bit of a spam attack at the moment, lots and lots of registrations from the same 2 or 3 domains and they're all bouncing. We use Sendgrid for our email on their free tier and this current problem has tipped us over our free tier usage limit which is a pain. Normally we get 5 or 6 new registration attempts a day but for the past 3 or 4 days it's been approaching 100, which is our limit for emails. Given the low numbers it's probably someone trying manually all day but it would be nice to ban those domains they are trying to use.
Solution Marc Posted June 1, 2022 Solution Posted June 1, 2022 You can choose to disallow registation from set email domains by using ban settings. Go to Members>Member Settings>Ban settings, and set them up there. For example, if you want to block everything from gmail you would add *.gmail.com brfcs and SeNioR- 1 1
