Sanity check: Does upgrading 4.4- 4.5.2 require skin update?

I use a heavily customized skin for my site and it works fine on 4.4.10. I've been bitten in the past where I upgraded and learned I had to update my skin.  With all the front page improvements to the default skin, will that mess with my custom stuff?
