Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
gavpedz Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 The reason i ask is i am using the default theme and workin on a kind of customized version for my forum, however if there is going to be a new default theme or many template changes etc to the default theme then i might hang off until 4.5 is out when ever that is. Do we have an ETA?
bfarber Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 There is no public ETA, and yes there are certainly template changes. The general theme has not changed, but adding new features means template changes.
gavpedz Posted February 24, 2020 Author Posted February 24, 2020 Ok but generaly no different to any other update with a few template changes i need to merge etc. Just didnt want to spend time doign it to find nothing is compatible. Its only minor changes like colours via the theme editor and custom.css and a few aditions in the index template and topics template.
bfarber Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 I don't have a complete list of changes and 4.5 is still under active development, so there's simply no way to answer that question right now. The front-end theme has not been drastically overhauled. That said, we typically recommend doing as much work in the custom.css file (using CSS-only changes) as possible. This ensures maximum portability during upgrades.
