Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Giray Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 I know that there is not option for adding granularity to club permissions. What I would like to know is if there is a way to slightly modify one of the types. I would like to have an Open club, non-members can see content, but rather than being able to join without moderation, the club leader has to approve. The problem is that the closed type is the first level that has member control but there is no way to attract new members to it because they cannot see the content. Ideas? Plugin?
Jennifer M Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 The closest to that is "Read Only" however I don't believe that you can request to join that sort, the leader has to invite you into a Read Only Club.
Giray Posted August 29, 2019 Author Posted August 29, 2019 Thanks Jennifer but, indeed, read only won't work either. I'm stuck between open and closed. I really need a combo of the two. Open content to attract new members to the club, but the ability to moderate who joins! I guess the easiest way to describe it is a Closed club with Guest viewing privileges. I really need this for my business model!!
Giray Posted August 29, 2019 Author Posted August 29, 2019 A much simpler way of explaining my need. This is the current Open type: Everyone can see the club and its posts, but only members can participate. Everyone can join. I need an Open/Close hybrid as follows: Everyone can see the club and its posts, but only members can participate. Users need to ask a leader to join.
