Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
AlexJ Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 How I can make this forum default? Does forum has handle where I am? I mean if i am on homepage, Everywhere makes sense. If I am in category how by default i can restrict it to that category or forum? Wouldn't it make search more faster? Ex - if I am in Google search - I get all. If i am in "News" tab - i get all the News.
Joel R Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 Are you talking about search? Search will always default to All. IPS has gone back and forth on what to include in default search and its a difficult question. Many users would prefer a contextual search that takes into account where you are (eg. If you're in forums, then search forums). Other users argue that where you are shouldn't limit where you want to go.

I mean to me, it makes search, if i search in gmail tab of my browser to search for gmail emails only. Why would it search for emails of my another tab which is outlook! Current functionality, odd! I wish IPS adds option. On 6/25/2019 at 11:00 PM, Joel R said: Are you talking about search? Yes.
