Wordpress SSO breaking access to forums

Hey, our community has been running fine for a few months now, but today I noticed when you try to click through from the Forum homepage through to a sub forum, it redirects me to my wordpress admin page (if logged in as admin) or website homepage (if logged in as standard user).  

I've been trying to troubleshoot this and found that disabling the wordpress SSO plugin resolves this, so I presume I've got some sort of rule conflict or similar when users sign in via SSO that's making our forum think they don't have access/only have access to the top level forum page?  

Anyone seen this before? Any suggestions on how to resolve?
