I have the sidebar that shows how many members etc is there one that shows how many topics and how many posts?

If you open the sidebar to edit the widgets etc, under the Forums tab you should see a "Forum Statistics" one, simply drag that to either the sidebar on the actual site or place it above/below the forums area as appropriate. Quick pics from my test site:

 

... And I dragged it to under the forum listing itself, resulting in this (ignore values tis only a test site)

Depending on your site design / theme etc it may suit better in the sidebar on the right with any other blocks you have here. Best (imo) to try in both the central area then to the side to see which you prefer best. 🙂
