Disable access to 'Messages' until user has X posts

We'd like to prevent all new users from using the messenger/PM system until they have 5 posts.

Rather than using groups and promotions, we were wondering if someone could write us a small plugin that just checks their content count when they attempt to use the PM system and displays a custom error if they don't have at least X posts.

i already said this lol the OP says to much work !

Not really too much work, just seems overly complex when all we need is a 'have you posted X times' conditional on the messenger area. Seems more elegant 🙂
