My users would want to have a default editor setting. Such as, make their text by default at a certain size.

Is there a way to do this or a plugin or something?

If there isn't a plugin, is there a way I can code this myself?

I believe you can edit the default font size and type by editing the CSS for the theme you are using. See here for an example:

Also, you can add additional CKEditor plugins to your forum as well, should you be looking for alternate functionality:
