Buschapa Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Hello, I'm building a website and have bought the forum license as someone recommended it to me However, I have some issues. I'd like to have a single-sign-on integrated which looks the same and has the same functions in the forum and on the website. I've paid someone to make the forum look like my website but I think he got rid of important features (log-in/register lol) of my website in order to save some time :/ Now my question: could someone help me to integrate a log-in/register widget on both ends (website/forum) and have it not redirect to "wordpress-login". I dont have too much money to spare unfortunately but i could pay a little if someone can help me. My website is: www.pokerreign.com The plug-in single-sign-on should already be integrated on my website. Thanks in advance for responses and help. Best regards - Pierre
TAMAN Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Out of curiosity, what do you need wordpress for?, if the whole point of integrating wordpress with IPS is the look and feel, adding articles on homepage...etc then you can do all of this with IPS Pages application.
Buschapa Posted April 16, 2018 Author Posted April 16, 2018 TBH I have no clue. I'm new to all of this. I'm using a specific WordPress theme and thought id need a website to realise my goals. I didn't know that IPS has the same functions as a WordPress website. Im trying to become a poker affiliate and thought it would be helpful for users to have a place to chat and so i bought the IPS software. Do you know if what i want can be done?

Buschapa Posted April 17, 2018 Author Posted April 17, 2018 I want that users can register on WordPress and the forum and it’s the same user experience for them
Optic14 Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 This third party app can do full SSO and bridge with WordPress but it’s very expensive... but looking at it, it looks like it treats IPS login as master (bypass WP) whilst keeping both user databases in sync. It sounds like you already have an existing user base on your front WordPress site. Having a bridge with SSO is only the first step .. if you want it to feel “seamless” you will need to tweak your theme in both WP and IPS, particularly the navigation and header.
Buschapa Posted April 17, 2018 Author Posted April 17, 2018 Hello, thanks very much for the response! Yes, exactly. It needs a lot of tweaks to the navigation bar. I do have a very little existing user database at wordpress but that doesn't matter, I could take the loss. basically, the thing that gives me a headache is to integrate a login/registration widget which looks the same on both ends and has the same/similar functions. And btw, ive bought and got the single-sign-on running already but i just dont know how to manage the earler stated problem - making it look and function the same on both ends. I bought this : https://invisioncommunity.com/services/sso Thanks again for the answers! ? And maybe someone can help me.. i have zero ideas about coding..
Optic14 Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 Well the 3rd party app I linked to above looks like it has login/register WP widgets: I’m guessing whoever did your solution they would have done the same? You would have had to install a SSO plugin on the WP side which should have added new widgets too right? So you could tweak the WP widgets on your site, that’s the approach I would take. You’ll probably need to follow up with IPS if they did the solution for you.. we don’t know exactly what or how they did it for your site.
