Categories for Pages - Allow custom fields

In the very nice and open setup of Pages it feels a bit strange that categories are the strange and secluded darkling on the corner that we seem unable to actually do anything with.

So, I would very much like to request that we are allowed to extend categories as well with custom fields. This would allow us to add images, colors, text fields for any number of customizations such as injecting html or CSS before and after the titles and so on.

It would also be nice to be able to submit to multiple categories, but that is icing on the cake
