forum root url not redirecting

I am not a technical person at all, so please excuse my very layman's explanation.

Our main forums are at 1. http://forum.dnet.org.au

We have test forums at 2. http://forum.dnetters.org.au

When you click on 2. above, it redirects to http://forum.dnetters.org.au/index.php?/login/ where people can either register or login.

However 1. above doesn't do this.  So people can't register.

Hopefully trying those links will explain our issue better

On your live site, edit your guest group settings and turn 'Can access site?' off.
