rgf100 Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 Back in 3.x I had a standalone php script to query the database and give me this kind of info. I'd like to get it done 'properly' as an app or plugin, but having just had a look at the documentation, it's beyond me. Part of running a successful community is, for me, welcoming new members and making sure the old ones keep coming back. So... a) I want a report of all members who've reached 3 posts or more since the last time the report was run. Less than 3 posts they might just have turned up to ask a single question and disappeared. This would include the member's profile info and the text of those posts, and it lets me send (or click through to send) a pm. The pm box will be prefilled with boilerplate which I'll customise ( Hey {$username}, was good to see your posts about _______ . ) b) Also, a report of regular members (say those who have 50 posts or more) who haven't logged in for a while (say a week), with again profile info, text of their last few posts, and a quick way to contact them. Ideally this'd be customisable - maybe someone only wants to see new members after 10 posts, etc. I can fund development, but I'd like to see a developer who'll also sell it via marketplace and maintain it ongoing.
jair101 Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 You can do this with Automatic Rules, but it won't be a turnkey solution and it will require a bit of effort on your part.
rgf100 Posted September 18, 2017 Author Posted September 18, 2017 Thanks. I believe both of those at best send out boilerplate emails. I want to be tailoring them to the member - or in some cases not sending a message, or bumping a topic rather than sending a message. Hence the need for the report showing me the members and their recent content.

You can include the member name, as well as text from topic, etc. A limitation will be that the PM you send can include only one topic link and I believe you want to include few of them. Altough...now thinking about it you can probably include as many as you want. 1. Include member custom fields that hold the text or titles or links to last X topics. 2. Upon new topic submission you replace the oldest one with the new post. 3. Schedule 3 months from this moment to send a pm containing the member name and the links to the three topics. 4. Reschedule after each new topic is posted. I am pretty sure this is doable.
rgf100 Posted September 18, 2017 Author Posted September 18, 2017 "A limitation will be that the PM you send can include only one topic link and I believe you want to include few of them." I think you're misunderstanding slightly. I want to *view* a report with the member names, some profile info, and text of recent posts. Then *I* want to write a PM. At no point do I want to automate sending of any messages.
jair101 Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 This is also possible. Instead of sending the automatic PM, you can write the info in a log file and you can do as you wish from that point on. If you believe I hijack your thread just say so and I will stop, sorry.
rgf100 Posted September 19, 2017 Author Posted September 19, 2017 Not at all, I didn't realise about the log files and that might be useful. However, until I figure that out I'm still in the market for a paid developer...
