Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
tomwin Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Hi, this is new for me. I have set up social login with Twitter. Not tested it yet. Not sure if it is good or not. I wonder about when a new user sign in on my Forum with my Twitter account. Will this user details allso become a new member in my site? Can this user then log in without using the Twitter login?
opentype Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Whether or not the the Twitter name should become the forum display name is up to the admin. It’s a setting in the login handler options. The password is of course not copied over. The user just connects the account so he/she can login with the Twitter credentials.
tomwin Posted November 19, 2016 Author Posted November 19, 2016 Thank you for your answer. So maybe it's not so good to use this because you want to have as many members as possible. More members you have the more new members will register. Maybe?
opentype Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 They are still regular members, they just don’t have to remember yet another password. The general idea is that you get MORE registrations because it’s faster and easier for people to register this way.
