Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Elena-Viorica Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 My community has been the target of DDoS attacks recently and I'm considering using CloudFlare on my VPS. I have never used CloudFlare so far. Can anyone share any experiences about CloudFlare? Does it affect the forums' functionality? Can you uninstall it if you don't like it?
pxg.me nick Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Cloudflare worked fine for my community in the past. However, depending on the type of ddos attacks your community is receiving it may not help.
Jeffrey Spriegel Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 I have used cloudflare for a while. Couple of notes Will have to change your IP address, as if they have the ip they can attack directly. Can't run a mail server on the same system (once again they can discover your server ip, thus nullifing any benefit from cloudflare) Other than that, no issues. works the same as normal
