Commerce won't promote groups?

I purchased commerce last night and just setting it up. I have a problem with it promoting user group upon purchasing.

I set up one product, and it works fine. However, another one that is set up to offer advertising doesn't promote group.

When you buy it you should get adverts in the board (which works) and also promoted to another group. This doesn't work, the user stays in their original group.

All the settings seem to be fine, and the same as the working product. Permissions are fine.

Any thoughts?

Just curious, for the product they are purchasing, when you edit it. under Store and Purchase settings for that item. do you have it setup to promote?

Yeah, all seems fine in settings. The previous product worked ok, only difference was it wasn't selling advertiseents, just a group promotion. It worked fine...

hmm curious. are the people buying the product you have issues with are they in a protected group? (anyone listed as admin ranks are auto protected)

I checked that @MADMAN32395, no groups protected..

I've raised a ticket, but it's a weird one. The other purchase worked just fine...

I had something similar last week where people where not promoted to a new group. It had to do with a setup of a forum that did not 'increase user content counts'.

I completely forgot where that was though but it may point you into the right direction.

Had a look, that's setup ok, although it's not posts that promote a member there, it's buying a subscription. Worth checking though, thank @riko
