hook for topic/post splitting

Hi,

I am using the fantastic Automation Rules app, but it doesn't support rules for when topics/posts are split. In discussing this with the developer, @Kevin Carwile, he told me it is because currently the IPS platform doesn't offer a hook that developers can use for this action: http://ipsguru.net/forums/topic/149-actions-for-content-editedsplitmerged

So, it would be really important to add this hook, so apps and plugins could be developed to modify/add functionalities for when topics/posts are split.
