Windwalker222 Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Okay, so last night I bit the bullet and upgraded to 3.4.8 from the previous version (even though I had applied security updates before then). Email notifications seem to have stopped altogether. I'm getting "Could not connect to SMTP server" error in the logs. Same with the diagnostic tool under Support> email test.I have double checked everything in the system>configuration>email . I even changed my password for my google email account for the board thinking google had trashed my password somehow. Still the same error. I have a support ticket in but from what I read it could be a long while before a response. My members are clamoring for notifications. Has anyone run into this with the 3.4.8 upgrade and found a solution? I know I have read about an email notification problem with someone after upgrading to V4.
Windwalker222 Posted August 11, 2015 Author Posted August 11, 2015 Please close this thread. I found the solution. My setup used to work using the tls for google. I changed it to ssl and it works now.
