Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Large Scale Planes Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Hi guys,I've recently upgraded the local test version of our community to v4 to see what I'm in for before going live with it. One of the things I've noticed so far is that the display of double-byte Unicode characters has become messed up. Well, one that I've found so far, anyway.Pre-conversion: HåkanPost-conversion: HÃ¥kanNow, I was able to paste the correct version in successfully, to both here and my test community. But straight out of the database, there's something amiss with the converted original data.Any ideas?Kev
Marcher Technologies Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 By your description, it sounds like something went amiss in the actual conversion of the data to UTF8. I'd suggest submitting a ticket, stating you can provide a backup of your 3.x database to run the conversion against to reproduce/debug the issue.
Large Scale Planes Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 That sounds plausible. I can't provide the database backup, however, as it's well over 800MB (the v3 data, that is). It doesn't matter for my testing so much, but I'm a bit concerned about it when going live.Kev
