Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
NoGi Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 I just noticed a triplicate user (same username and email). He registered via Tapatalk, how is it possible that tapatalk was able to circumvent the validation process to prevent this? Wouldn't the api they use do this sort of check?
Marcher Technologies Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Wouldn't the api they use do this sort of check?Tapatalk is notorious for overloading core classes without real need, denying hooks, and misusing API's in 3.x.... so... no, I don't imagine it would, as it is likely they are up to old tricks and are either overloading said API or just not using the core one at all.\IPS\Member won't let me create such a duplicate member in testing, so it should in theory be blocked, but given the above, it's not outside the realm of possibility.
