Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
jcdesign Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 I was upgrade my site for about 2 weeks ago to IPS4.When doing searches at google, the hits are much worser than before upgrading. What is the best way to indexing my site? I want to index My Downloads "Files" system.
Gnuru Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 I am using ips 4 with downloads successfully. Google ranks lots of my files in high positions. My advice:Check with google webmaster tools and submit your /files directory to itMake sure that your sitemap contains the "Download" section and priority is set to 1.0 (although they claim to not use the priority). Submit your sitemap to google.Check your h1 tags when viewing a file and make sure it contains your keywordsCheck your description and make sure it contains your keywordsYou can use bing webmaster tools to check onpage seo ranking factors... (quite useful)
jcdesign Posted June 5, 2015 Author Posted June 5, 2015 Thank you so much for this info.I´m trying to link the sitemap. Webmaster tools tells me that sitemap.php are in html and does not support.
Gnuru Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Please provide a link to your domain so I can have a look at your files and sitemap...
jcdesign Posted June 18, 2015 Author Posted June 18, 2015 The site is still dead after Gnuru´s advice, no activity from googlebot or other search engines. Before in 3.4 Googlebot crawling all the time.Any other who can help me?
