Bar Codes

Is there any way to sell a package in the store that has a bar code that can be scaned at a later date to be verified.

For example I am having a county fair. I want people to purchase tickets in advance. I want to sell them an admission ticket or a pass that I can verify at the gate with a scaner?

Is this even posible?

If so how do I do it?

This is not something really possible out of the box, but I'm sure you could have an addon written to do it.
