JQuery Theme Layout?

Hello IPS,

Am I just thinking out loud and not knowing what I'm even talking about, or even been thought about that I haven't heard of that a JQuery type theme option is possible? I've been using WP Visual Composer for my domain home page and want to have that type of capability on my I.P.Board layout.

Wouldn't it be kind of nice of having the ability of a JQuery theme layout, having the option of just dragging and dropping blocks into an option of re-sizable content areas of the board?

I know there's I.P.Content to do this somewhat, but it's not a user friendly environment to create a good landing, crispy and vivid layout of IP.Board.

I would like this feature if it's not being worked on 4.0 already.

I'm probably going to get beat up here so let me have it!

Thanks,

Ben

You'll be happy to know that jQuery will be standard in 4.0 :)

However, I think you're asking for something where you can create a new skin without any coding, correct?

That's correct Philip... something to that effect, sort of keeping header with minor adjustments, but the option of laying out between the header and footer.

I know you smart dev folks at IPS can create something like that. I know this would definitely attract CMS users out there to future development of IPS.

Hi Ben!

You can already create a pretty good skin without knowing any html or css code - by using our Visual Skin Editor.

You can access the Visual Skin Editor from your AdminCP, under the Look & Feel menu. All you need to do is click the 'Create New Skin' button and (pending your license is active) you should see the following pop up:

Screen%20Shot%202013-03-27%20at%2003.32.

Simply select 'Visual Editor' here and you'll be taken to an interface where you can create a skin and select colors for different areas without a single line of code.

Screen%20Shot%202013-03-27%20at%2003.41.

(As you can see, I'm no designer, this is simply an example shot showing you can easily change the look of your skin with this tool. )

With that color you are a designer :| Good Job :)

I appreciate the response, but I sort like my theme color layout that I have. I mean on a better method of laying the look of the data to make it more user friendly and not overtaken by forums.

Right now the only thing that comes close to what I'm talking about is the Portal Ap by Mike John

I've been using that..
