Thanks. Well, I did that, now, but as far as open_basedir I used open_basedir = 1 and it just made my site go blank. Maybe for shared hosting, it can;t be done in custom php ini files.... plus I read somewhere that is suphp is used, then the value for that in the php.ini doesn't make any difference. Like i've said before, I haven't been on a site where you can use a custom php,.ini before and I actually am annoyed by it because they should not be expecting otehrs to do all of this. i would rather there not even be custom ones, now that i think about it.
